A Glorious Goodwood and a Banker for Wednesday!

As both old and new members know by now I NEVER get involved for the sake of it and whilst the vast majority did their ‘proverbials’ in at Goodwood all week we remained steadfast in our approach, refused to listen to the ‘noise’ and yet again recorded another profitable week with Crown of Oaks bolting up at Ayr, Golden Thorn (3/1) responding well to the headgear down at Windsor, Zavateri (8/1) winning the Vintage Stakes (sent out for free in my podcast on the website), Best Secret (7/2) winning a handicap like a Group horse and Merchant winning the Gordon Stakes despite hating the testing ground.

Whilst some have 5 runners a day, we have more like 6-8 a week and it’s that sort of selective approach that has now seen us record 12 profitable years on the bounce with an average ROI of +19% – there’s a reason we’ve been around as long as we have.

Having left an appalling set of cards well alone on Monday and Tuesday I’m pleased to say I have two strong pieces of information confirmed for both Wednesday and Thursday, one of which includes a newcomer that we’ll be hearing big things of for the second-half of the season.

There have been plenty of horses that have caught the eye over the past week or two, but the below is one you have to get in your trackers based on how highly he’s thought of:

DARK SHORE (Jane Chapple-Hyam) – Jane holds this Dark Angel colt in high regard and he simply ended up needing the outing more than connections first felt he would. He’s bound to improve plenty for the experience at Ascot and is felt to be well above average based on his work with winners at home including Birgham Dub and The Joker who was 3rd in a red-hot Sandown maiden on debut.
