Following on from a 55% ROI in September, a 30% ROI in October, a 58% ROI in November and a 32% ROI thus far in December it’s safe to say we’ve had an excellent year on the service and with a busy few weeks planned we will keep the proverbial ball rolling. Some runners over the past month have taken the eye and are well worth putting in your notebook for future engagements.

Le Breuil (Ben Pauling) – Successful in a Grade 2 at the Festival last year, this eight-year old looked sure to go close until a major blunder 4 out cost him any chance he may have had having traded as short as 2.24 in running. He remains capable of taking a handicap chase off his current mark and is one to follow for the rest of the season.

Elegant Queen (Roger Varian) – A well-bred daughter by Bated Breath, she let her backers down on debut at Lingfield when supported from 9/2 into 5/2 when showing nothing but greenness throughout. She’s expected to come into her own next year when stepped up in trip and will know much more second time around. A filly to keep on side.

Melody of Life (Andrew Balding) – Having improved from her debut effort at Kempton this filly took a nice step forward to go down fighting to a well-regarded Ralph Beckett trained horse. She has a smart pedigree being by Dark Angel and a brother to Happy Power and is expected to go one better wherever she goes next.

Three Platoon (Roger Varian) – This colt by Kingman had been showing up well in his work at home and having been supported from 6/4 into 8/15 he shaped extremely well in defeat despite only managing 3rd. With a wide draw in 10 to overcome, a slow start meant he had to make up considerable ground form the rear under Jack Mitchell to be beaten just under a length. He will have no issues in taking a similar novice and is felt to be well above average.

Flight Path (Jane Chapple-Hyam) – A backward grey by Mukhadram this gelding is one to keep firmly in the notebook for next season. A wide draw in 12 and unsustainable fractions up front under Stevie Donohue cost him any chance he may have had on the day and he’s expected to leave his current mark of 65 well behind when switched to the turf next season. He has plenty of growing still to do and will make up into an above average four-year old in 2021.
