Following on from a fantastic Saturday with with Master Zoffany (10/1), Aablan (3/1) and Musical Tribute (13/2) all getting the job done it’s safe to say we’ve started the new month as we mean to go on!
Below I’ve included three horses for the notebooks that have caught the eye over the past few days:
SHIN JIDAI (Roger Varian): This well-bred filly by Blue Point was given a terrible ride by Ben Curtis at Thirsk under the penalty and having made a big-race move to get into contention two furlongs out and having just about hit the front (traded 1.94 in running) she understandably got tired as a result. She’s felt to be well above average and under a more sensible ride next time out she’ll be well worth keeping on side.
URBAN OUTLOOK (Andrew Balding) – Having needed his last run back earlier in the week more than first anticipated he was arguably a tad unfortunate not to finish closer that day at Kempton, his position on the inside doing him no favours based on where the first three came from. His mark is still felt to be a lenient one and there are more races in him.
MANHATTAN MIRAGE (Alice Haynes) – A very nice 2yo that missed the break on debut back on Friday and would work into the 90s at home with some good yardsticks. Based on the regard in which he’s held a similar novice/maiden should be a formality for this colt.
