An excellent end to June on Thursday as our three account selections: Soulcombe (5/1 into 10/3), Hamaki (9/2) and Wodeton (10/3) rounded off another decent month in style!
The July Festival here in Newmarket is now fast approaching so if you’ve been sitting on the fence when it comes to joining or indeed re-joining then please go to: https://racecourseside.com/membership-levels/
There have been three horses this week that have caught the eye – all are well worth putting in your trackers for future engagements:
DEVOTED POET (Roger Varian): This colt by Iffraaj has now been turned over at short odds the last twice, but he has very much been his own worst enemy by overracing on both occasions. He will now most likely be gelded, but based on his ongoing homework, he’s felt to be extremely well treated from a mark of 85.
I AM THE SEA (William Haggas): This three-year old ran a flat race at Sandown on Saturday, but reportedly came back missing a shoe and having gone so close at Leicester prior to that he’s felt to be well treated from a mark of 70. Expect to see him up in trip next time and he’s a horse to keep on side once tackling 1m4f.
PROTAGONIST (William Haggas): A quick replay of this horses run on Saturday will tell you all you need to know. Having been blocked off on numerous occasions he finished with plenty of running left and based on his work he’s another from the Haggas camp that’s felt to be well treated. Granted a more trouble-free run next time out he’s one to note for future engagements.
